A gentle mama Striped Skunk stopping to pose once she caught whiff of me. This was a fun encounter to see a skunk forage during the daytime while a college campus was virtually empty. I had been at San Diego State University’s campus to photograph a rare bird when I came across this calm skunk instead. She stopped and sniffed the air then paused and I got a couple cool photos of her facing my direction. Taken in January 2026 in California.
